A highlight of the hike is its endpoint, which leads to the Libyan Sea. This stunning area is classified as a National Park and is protected by UNESCO.

The Samaria Gorge is located in the heart of the White Mountains and is just 1 hour away from Chania. It is recommended to leave your car in Chania and take an organized bus to the gorge, which will take you to Xyloskalo.
