How will you get to Balos?
Balos Lagoon is approximately 53 kilometres from the city of Chania and a few kilometres from the village of Kasteli. You can drive part of the way, but after a certain point, you’ll need to take a boat or walk to reach the beach. The boats depart from the port of Kasteli and take you directly to Balos Beach and Gramvousa Peninsula. Alternatively, if you’re driving, you can park about 2 kilometres away from the beach and take a scenic 30-minute walk to reach it. Be sure to pack water bottles for the journey!
